Laboratory analysis verifies the absence or strict limit values of banned azo dyes, volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, proper skin-neutral pH levels, and color fastness. Securing the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 label ensures that every garment component is free from harmful levels of toxic substances.

Certification details are typically displayed on product care labels alongside a unique test number, allowing consumers and businesses to verify validity in the official database. If labeling is absent on the physical garment, technical specifications and compliance documentation can be requested directly from the manufacturer or supplier. This verification is essential when selecting promotional and workwear garments intended for prolonged skin contact.

Beyond product safety, the OEKO-TEX Association provides specialized certification modules tailored to broader supply chain management. These include STeP by OEKO-TEX (evaluating sustainable production facilities and working conditions), Leather Standard (specifically for leather materials), Eco Passport (certifying textile chemicals and colorants), and Made in Green (combining product safety verification with transparent supply chain traceability).
