Promotional ceramics is one of the most frequently used advertising media. Promotional mugs, due to their durability and price, are considered the most desirable promotional gadgets. A printed mug, cup, beer mug, glass, or even an entire service work great as a promotional gift handed out during organized promotions, tastings or industry fairs.

Many companies use promotional mugs and cups as a form of representing their image. On promotional mugs we can place any print, e.g. your company logo, advertising slogan, company contact details and more. The promotional print can be one-, two-, three- or full-color.

We perform marking using various techniques

  • Direct print is the cheapest method of printing on promotional ceramics. One of the main limitations of this solution is the ability to print only solid colors, without tonal transitions.
  • Ceramic decal is the most durable technique of marking promotional mugs. Unfortunately, this method is also the most expensive.
  • Sublimation is the method we most often use to place photographs on promotional ceramics.
  • Sandblasting is a method of printing on mugs, consisting of engraving using a sandblasting device.
  • Magic Mug is a technique that enables the color of a promotional mug to change under the influence of heat. In this way, we achieve the magical effect of the appearance of a promotional print.

Project preparation

  • graphics in vector form in Corel, or as a file in EPS format, for ART PRINT a 300dpi jpeg file,
  • fonts converted to curves,
  • resolution for raster projects – 300 dpi,
  • we recommend specifying colors according to the Pantone color chart,
  • minimum line thickness: TRANSFER PRINT and DIRECT PRINT: positive 0.2 mm, negative 0.4 mm; TERMO INK: positive 1.5 mm, negative 2 mm; SENSITIVE TOUCH: positive 0.8 mm, negative 1.5 mm,
  • minimum text size: TRANSFER PRINT and DIRECT PRINT: positive 7 pt, negative 10 pt; TERMO INK: no possibility of using text form; SENSITIVE TOUCH: positive 12 pt, negative 24 pt.

Print durability

  • TRANSFER PRINT and DIRECT PRINT: prints on porcelain and earthenware products are fired at 800-840°C, which makes them resistant to washing in mechanical dishwashers. Prints on glass are fired at 560-620°C. For this reason, hand washing is recommended,
  • TERMO INK: prints in this technology undergo UV curing, so hand washing is recommended,
  • ART PRINT and MAGIC MUG: prints in these technologies are baked at approx. 180°C, so hand washing is recommended.

Methods of marking promotional ceramics

Hydrocolor

Advantages:

  • color reproduction according to Pantone,
  • possibility of decorating the entire surface of the mug,
  • option to combine with other decoration techniques,
  • execution from 108 pieces.

Limitations:

  • decoration durability – over 250 hours of washing in home dishwashers (operating temperature 60°C),
  • limited resistance to mechanical damage.

Technological phases:

  • preparation of paint according to Pantone color chart,
  • preparation of machine parameters,
  • coloring of the product in the spray chamber,
  • firing at approx. 200°C.

Laser engraving

Laser engraving is performed on the metal elements of thermal mugs and on the silicone lid of the Play&Go mug. The decoration area is 3 x 3 cm; for larger sizes please contact the sales department.

Advantages:

  • low decoration costs,
  • execution from 24 pieces,
  • high accuracy of reproducing small elements.

Limitations:

  • print in one color,
  • print only on the outside of the product within the designated print area,
  • minimum line thickness: positive 0.2 mm, negative 0.4 mm,
  • minimum text size: positive 4 pt, negative 6 pt.

Crystal Touch

Crystal Touch enables the application of very exclusive crystals on promotional ceramics. The specific nature of the production process and the adhesives we use allow Crystal Touch to be combined with many different decoration technologies: decals, direct printing, Sensitive Touch, as well as Art Print and Magic Mug mugs. Our crystals are available in two standard colors: crystal-silver and crystal-honey.

Advantages:

  • exclusive nature of decoration,
  • execution from 24 pieces,
  • possibility of combining with other techniques.

Limitations:

  • minimum font size 12 pt.

Sensitive Touch (sandblasting)

Advantages:

  • elegant 3D decoration effect,
  • possibility of enhancing the effect by coloring the sandblasted structure.

Limitations:

  • minimum font size – 12 pt.

Technological phases:

  • preparation of the project for plotting,
  • plotting on foil,
  • sticking the foil onto the product,
  • sandblasting process,
  • optional paint spraying of the sandblasted element,
  • foil removal.

TERMO INK – heat-disappearing print

Termo Ink technology can only be used in combination with direct printing, maximum up to 6 colors + Termo black. The Termo Ink print undergoes UV curing. For this reason, hand washing is recommended.

Advantages:

  • magical effect of advertising message,
  • ideal for full-color motifs.

Limitations:

  • full-color print without raster elements,
  • print only on the outside of the product,
  • hand washing.

Phases of the technological process:

  • preparation of the project for printing,
  • machine printing directly on the product,
  • firing process,
  • machine printing with TERMO INK paint,
  • UV curing process.

MAGIC MUG – mug changing color under the influence of heat

The "Magic" coating does not guarantee full "hiding" of the print. The degree of transparency effect depends on the color of the coating on the mug and the specifics of the print.

Advantages:

  • photographic print quality,
  • magical effect of advertising message,
  • low prototype costs,
  • vivid print colors,
  • ideal for small runs.

Limitations:

  • hand washing,
  • print only on the outside of the mug.

Technological phases:

  • preparation of the project for printing,
  • printing directly onto paper,
  • wrapping of the Magic Mug,
  • baking process,
  • optional machine print "logo +",
  • chemical curing process.

ART PRINT – print quality 300 dpi

Advantages:

  • photographic print quality,
  • low prototype costs,
  • vivid print colors,
  • ideal for small runs.

Limitations:

  • hand washing,
  • print only on the outside of the mug.

Phases of the technological process:

  • printing directly onto paper,
  • wrapping of the Art Mug,
  • baking process.

TRANSFER PRINT – decal printing

Advantages:

  • large advertising surface,
  • personalization option,
  • print durability for dishwasher washing.

Limitations:

  • none.

  • transferring the decal onto the product,
  • firing process.

DIRECT PRINT – direct printing

Advantages:

  • low print costs,
  • print durability for dishwasher washing,
  • ideal for full-color motifs.

Limitations:

  • full-color print without raster elements,
  • print only on the outside of the product within the designated print area,
  • print up to 6 colors.
